Month-end takes too long
Bank lines are matched by hand, supplier statements are ticked off on paper, and the trial balance is only ready weeks after the period ends.
Odoo ERP · Accounting
We configure ledgers, taxes, journals and bank feeds so that invoices, bills, payments and stock moves post to the right accounts without anyone re-keying them.
Odoo accounting implementation is the configuration of Odoo's Accounting app so that a company's general ledger, receivables, payables, bank reconciliation, taxes and financial reporting run inside the ERP. It covers the chart of accounts, fiscal positions, journals, payment terms, opening balances and the accounting entries generated automatically by sales, purchasing and inventory. Done properly, the accountant reviews and reconciles rather than types.
Finance teams usually inherit their data from everyone else: sales issues invoices in one tool, the warehouse moves stock in another, and the accountant rebuilds the picture in a spreadsheet at month-end. Moving to Odoo fixes that only if the accounting foundation is designed first. A chart of accounts copied from the old system, taxes set up without fiscal positions, or opening balances that never reconciled will follow the company into the new ERP and make every report suspect.
Bank lines are matched by hand, supplier statements are ticked off on paper, and the trial balance is only ready weeks after the period ends.
Different tax rates for local, exempt and export customers are chosen manually on each invoice, so returns need to be corrected before filing.
Inventory value in the warehouse system never matches the balance sheet because stock moves are not posted to accounts in real time.
Customer and vendor balances, bank balances and stock carried over from the old system don't reconcile, which undermines trust in the new ledger from day one.
We start from the relevant Odoo fiscal localization package where one exists, then adapt account codes, account types, fiscal years, lock dates and journals to your reporting needs.
Sales and purchase taxes, tax groups, withholding where your rules require it, and fiscal positions that switch taxes automatically by customer or vendor type. Your tax advisor validates the final configuration.
Bank journals, statement imports in the formats your bank provides, reconciliation models for recurring lines such as bank charges, and payment methods for receipts and supplier payments.
Trial balance, open customer invoices, unpaid vendor bills, bank balances and stock valuation imported at the cut-over date, with a reconciliation report signed off by your accountant.
Inventory valuation accounts, landed costs, analytic accounting by department or project, and the posting rules that connect sales, purchase and stock activity to the ledger.
Profit and loss, balance sheet, aged receivables and payables, tax reports and custom management reports, plus hands-on training for the people who close the books.
Reconciliation models and matching rules handle repetitive bank lines, leaving exceptions for the accountant.
Fiscal positions choose the correct tax based on the partner, reducing manual corrections before filing.
Because sales, purchases and stock post as they happen, reports reflect current activity instead of last month's spreadsheet.
Each journal entry links back to its source document, whether an invoice, bill, payment or stock move.
Moving the ledger off QuickBooks, Tally, Peachtree or spreadsheets so invoices and bills are created where the sale or purchase happens.
Traders and manufacturers that need automated stock valuation, cost of goods sold and landed costs reflected in the balance sheet.
Several legal entities in one database with separate ledgers, inter-company invoicing and consolidated management views.
Analytic accounting by project or client so profitability is visible without exporting data to a separate tool.
Each stage is reviewed by your finance lead before the next one begins.
We look at your current chart of accounts, tax obligations, bank accounts, reports and closing routine.
Account structure, journals, analytic plans and fiscal positions agreed with your finance lead in writing.
Taxes, payment terms, banks, reconciliation models and report layouts built on a staging database.
Stock valuation, purchase and sales accounts, and expense posting tested with realistic transactions.
Trial imports of the trial balance and open items, reconciled against the old system until they tie out.
Your team processes a sample period in Odoo and compares results with the legacy books.
Final balance import, lock date set on the legacy period, and support through the first close.

Separate rights for billing staff, accountants and advisers, so only authorized users can post entries or change configuration.
Closed periods are locked so historical figures can't be changed after reports are issued without authorized access.
Record rules keep each entity's ledgers visible only to the people who work on that company.
Database snapshots taken before each opening-balance import so any trial can be rolled back cleanly.
We agree the chart of accounts and posting logic with your finance team before touching sales or inventory settings.
Opening balances are not considered done until they tie out to your legacy trial balance and your accountant signs off.
We tell you which tax and reporting rules Odoo's localization covers for your country and which need configuration or custom work.
The same team configures inventory, purchasing and payroll, so the entries those apps generate are designed with the ledger in mind.
Fixed-price packages with the scope written down, paid stage by stage. Your project goes live once it's fully paid.

If you want to run your full general ledger, bank reconciliation and financial reports in Odoo, you generally need the Enterprise Accounting app. Odoo Community includes Invoicing, which handles invoices, bills and payments but lacks several finance features. We confirm the edition after reviewing your reporting and closing needs.
Odoo provides fiscal localization packages for many countries, but coverage differs from country to country. Where a package exists we start from it; where it doesn't, or local rules go beyond it, we configure taxes and reports manually and ask your tax advisor to validate them before go-live.
We import a trial balance at the cut-over date plus the open customer invoices, unpaid vendor bills and bank balances behind it. Each trial import is reconciled against the legacy system, and the final import happens only after your accountant confirms the figures tie out.
Usually yes, with adjustments. Odoo needs every account to have a type that drives reporting, so we map your existing codes to Odoo account types and often suggest simplifying accounts that only existed because of limits in the old software.
Odoo can import bank statements in common file formats, and bank synchronization is available for some banks depending on country and provider. Where no direct feed exists, statement imports plus reconciliation models still remove most manual matching.
Yes, once configured. Confirmed invoices, vendor bills, payments and, with automated stock valuation, inventory moves create journal entries in the accounts you define, which is why we design those accounts before configuring other apps.
