Inspections skipped under pressure
When checks are a separate paper form, they are the first thing dropped when production is behind schedule.
Odoo ERP · Quality
We put inspections where they belong in your receipts, production steps and dispatches, so checks happen at the right moment and results are stored against the lot.
Odoo quality control implementation is the setup of Odoo's Quality app (an Enterprise app) to define where inspections happen, what is checked and what happens when a product fails. It involves quality control points attached to operations such as receipts, manufacturing work orders and deliveries, check types such as pass/fail, measurements, instructions and photos, plus quality alerts and teams for handling nonconformities. Because checks live inside the transfer or work order, they cannot be skipped silently.
Quality records on paper or in separate spreadsheets have two weaknesses: inspections are easy to skip when the line is busy, and results are hard to link back to a lot, a supplier or a customer shipment. When an auditor or customer asks for evidence, someone spends days reconstructing it. Embedding checks in the ERP solves this, but too many checks slow operations down, so the design has to focus on the inspections that matter.
When checks are a separate paper form, they are the first thing dropped when production is behind schedule.
Measurements are recorded, but not against the lot, supplier or work order, so they can't be used for traceability.
Defects are reported verbally, and root causes and corrective actions are not tracked to closure.
Gathering inspection history for customers, certifiers or regulators means searching through binders and shared drives.
We review your existing inspection plan or standard operating procedures and decide which checks belong in Odoo and at which operation.
Control points per product, product category or operation type, triggered on receipts, work orders, transfers or deliveries, with frequency set to every time, randomly or periodically.
Pass/fail checks, measurements with norms and tolerances, step-by-step instructions, photos and worksheets for operators.
Quality teams with their own stages, alerts raised from failed checks or by staff, and fields for root cause and corrective and preventive actions.
Checks embedded in Odoo Inventory transfers and Manufacturing work orders, with failed items moved to quarantine or scrap locations where your process requires it.
Check results and alert trends by product, supplier, work center and period, for internal reviews and audits.
Inspections appear inside the operation, so they are done at the right step.
Each result is tied to a product, lot, operation and user.
Quality alerts give nonconformities an owner, a stage and a recorded resolution.
Failure trends by supplier help purchasing make informed decisions.
Supplier deliveries sampled on receipt, with failed lots held in quarantine until a decision is made.
Dimensional measurements or visual checks at specific work-order steps in discrete manufacturing.
Food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical producers recording batch checks against lot numbers.
Final checks on packaging, labelling and quantity before goods leave the warehouse.
Existing inspection procedures, customer requirements and audit expectations collected and reviewed.
Inspections ranked by risk so Odoo enforces the important ones without overloading operators.
Control points, check types, tolerances, teams and alert stages built on staging.
Operators and inspectors run checks on real receipts and work orders and give feedback.
Checks activated in production with support during the first weeks.
Check frequency and tolerances refined using the first results.
Only quality users can define control points or close alerts.
Each check stores who performed it and when.
Quarantine locations and transfer rules keep failed goods from being used or shipped.
Procedures and worksheets attached to control points stay consistent across shifts.
We help you choose which inspections to enforce in Odoo, rather than digitizing every paper form.
Control points are designed with your manufacturing routings and warehouse routes, so they trigger at the right step.
Odoo Quality requires Enterprise; we explain this up front and, for Community users, scope what a custom module could cover.
When you need instrument data capture or special reports, our developers can extend the Quality app.
Fixed-price packages with the scope written down, paid stage by stage. Your project goes live once it's fully paid.

No, Odoo Quality is an Enterprise app. Community users can record basic information through custom fields or a custom module, but control points, quality checks and alerts as standard features require Enterprise.
Quality control points can be attached to inventory operations such as receipts, internal transfers and deliveries, and to manufacturing operations or work orders. Each point can apply to specific products, categories or operation types.
Yes. Measurement checks have a norm with lower and upper tolerances, and a result outside the range is marked as failed so a quality alert can be raised.
A quality alert is a record of a quality problem assigned to a quality team. It moves through stages and can record the product, lot, root cause and the corrective and preventive actions taken.
Odoo Quality can store inspection results and nonconformity records that support audits, but it does not make a company compliant by itself. Your quality procedures and how consistently they are followed still determine the audit outcome.
