Inaccurate bills of materials
Recipes and assemblies exist only in engineers' files or operators' heads, with quantities and scrap allowances that don't match reality.
Odoo ERP · Manufacturing (MRP)
We turn your recipes, assemblies and shop-floor steps into bills of materials and routings, so Odoo can plan components, schedule work and cost each order.
Odoo manufacturing implementation is the setup of Odoo's Manufacturing (MRP) app to plan, execute and cost production. It covers bills of materials, work centers, operations and routings, manufacturing orders and work orders, component replenishment, by-products, subcontracting and the costing that flows into inventory valuation. With MRP connected to Inventory, Purchase and Sales, demand from orders and stock rules drives what gets made and what gets bought.
Many manufacturers plan production on whiteboards and spreadsheets that only the planner fully understands. Components run out mid-batch, finished-goods costs are estimated once a year, and nobody can say quickly which raw material lot went into which shipment. Odoo MRP can fix this, but production data is demanding: inaccurate bills of materials or unrealistic work-center capacities produce plans the shop floor ignores.
Recipes and assemblies exist only in engineers' files or operators' heads, with quantities and scrap allowances that don't match reality.
Production starts before anyone checks whether every component is in stock, leading to stopped lines and rush purchases.
Material, labor and machine time aren't captured per order, so pricing decisions rely on old estimates.
When a quality issue appears, tracing affected raw material lots to finished products takes days of searching paperwork.
Multi-level BoMs, kits, phantom assemblies, by-products, variant-specific components and scrap factors, validated with your production team.
Work centers with capacity, working hours and costs per hour, and operations with expected durations so work orders can be scheduled realistically.
Make-to-order and make-to-stock strategies, reordering rules for components, and the Master Production Schedule (Enterprise) where forecast-driven planning is needed.
Work orders, operator instructions, component consumption and output recording, using Odoo's shop floor interface where your edition and version provide it.
Subcontracting BoMs that send components to a subcontractor and receive finished goods back, with costs captured correctly.
Production cost from components and operations flowing into inventory valuation, and lot or serial tracking from raw material to finished product.
Component availability is checked before orders are released, and shortages generate purchase proposals.
Material and operation costs per order show what each product actually costs to make.
Lot genealogy answers which inputs went into which outputs in minutes.
Sales, purchasing and production read from the same orders and stock levels.
Furniture, electrical goods and equipment with multi-level BoMs, work orders and serial tracking.
Food, chemicals and cosmetics produced in batches with lot tracking, by-products and expiry dates.
Each sales order triggers its own manufacturing order and component purchases.
Printing, plating or packing handled by subcontractors while stock and cost remain visible.
Bills of materials are verified against real consumption before go-live.
We follow a product from raw material receipt to finished-goods storage, by video walkthrough or on site by arrangement, noting every step and decision.
Bills of materials and routings gathered from engineering and checked against actual consumption.
Replenishment strategy, work-center capacities and the level of shop-floor detail agreed.
BoMs, work centers, operations, routes and costing set up on staging.
A few real manufacturing orders run end to end, comparing Odoo's consumption and cost with reality.
Short, role-based sessions for operators at their work-center screens, and planning sessions for supervisors.
Live production with support, followed by a review of BoM accuracy and capacity settings.
Operators record work orders, planners schedule, and only engineers change bills of materials.
BoM edits are logged, and Odoo PLM (Enterprise) can manage formal engineering change orders.
Settings that warn or block when consumption differs from the BoM.
Each manufacturing order keeps its components, lots, operators and timestamps.
We design MRP around what operators can realistically record, so data comes in reliably.
We configure MRP alongside Inventory, Purchase, Quality and Maintenance rather than as a standalone app.
Production costing and stock valuation are set up so manufacturing figures reconcile with the ledger.
Custom work-order screens, machine integrations or reports can be built by the same team.
Fixed-price packages with the scope written down, paid stage by stage. Your project goes live once it's fully paid.

Yes, the core Manufacturing app with bills of materials, work centers and manufacturing orders is available in Community. Features such as the Master Production Schedule, PLM, Quality and some shop-floor tools are Enterprise-only.
Yes. A BoM can contain sub-assemblies that have their own BoMs, and Odoo can create the related manufacturing orders for each level automatically or treat simple sub-assemblies as kits.
Odoo combines component costs with operation costs based on work-center rates and time spent, and passes the result into inventory valuation for the finished product. How detailed this is depends on whether you record work orders and time.
Yes. Subcontracting BoMs let you send components to a vendor, receive finished goods, and record the subcontractor's charge as part of the product cost.
Odoo Quality adds inspection points to manufacturing operations, and Odoo Maintenance links equipment to work centers so downtime and preventive maintenance are visible in planning. Both share data with MRP; Quality requires Enterprise, while the Maintenance app is available in Community and Enterprise.
Yes, through custom integration. Machine counters or sensors can send data to Odoo via its API or an IoT setup, which we scope based on the equipment and protocols you have.
